| Old Derby Animal Hospital 17 vs. N'tierty 14 | Minor League | Hingham - Hersey Field | Sat, Jun 02, 11:00 AM |
The bats came alive on a warm and sunny day at Hersey. In what many observers called the most exciting game of the year for either team, the Dirt Dogs of Old Derby came back from 11 runs down to defeat a spirited N'Tierty team. N'Tierty Manager Rich McGinn had his team up for the game as they brought nine runs across in the 2d inning aided by key hits by McGinn, Taylor, Johnson, and a basesloaded double by David Leen. Only a sparkling defensive play by third baseman Owen Kane could stem the tide. Matthew Partyka, Peter Ross and George Reader did a great job pitching against an Old Derby lineup that was as hot as the day. N'Tierty fought a valiant fight that in the end fell just a little short. Today was Old Derby's day. Every member of the lineup reached base at least once, led by Owen Kane with 2 home runs, 3 hits and 6 rbis, Grant Juric and Sam Jenkins (3 hits each) and Pat Kane (a bases loaded double that sparked the Dirt Dogs comeback). Jack Murphy got the win, striking out five of the last six batters he faced. Sam Jenkins, Trevor Bates and Owen Pelissier (in his longest appearance this season) did a great job against the tough N'Tierty squad. Pitchers: Old Derby Sam Jenkins 23 Trevor Bates 50 Owen Pelissier 44 Jack Murphy 16 N'Tierty Matt Partyka 66 Pete Ross 56 George Reader 9 |

| Old Derby Animal Hospital 17 vs. True North PR 16 | Minor League | Hingham - Kress Field | Wed, Jun 06, 5:00 PM |
33 runs + 10 pitchers + 2 days + one exciting game. Two great teams locked up a classic battle in a game originally suspended due to darkness. When the dust cleared, the Dirt Dogs of Old Derby were victorious, defeating True North 17-16 before a capacity crowd at Kress Field. Parker Doyle and Patrick Schofield turned in the defensive plays of the game for True North, teaming up to nail not one, not two, but three Old Derby runners at the plate. Doyle, along with 5 other True North pitchers, did a terrific job keeping the Old Derby batters off balance. A special shout out has to go to True North's Michael Calvi and Andrew Jamison who made their pitching debuts. For the Dirt Dogs Sam "Don't Even Try To Walk Me" Jenkins led the way with three hits. Scott Sullivan scored two big runs for Old Derby while Pat Kane came across the plate three times in the win. | Hingham Jewelers 2 vs. Old Derby Animal Hospital 0 | Minor League | Hingham - Kress Field | Sun, Jun 10, 3:00 PM |
Playoff baseball at it's finest. Great pitchers duel. Sam Jenkins held the Jewelers at bay for as long as he could, leaving the game without giving up a run. Luckily Brendan Smith was equally up to the task, going 3 innings (59 pitches) without giving up any runs also. We go to the fourth inning and the Jewelers peck away and get a few timely hits to put two runs on the board by an Andrew Burke single. That would do it. Jackson Bennis would enter the game and hold the the lead. Stephen Cochrane was also throwing hard but the "Jewelers" got a timely hit. |
