| Turner Custom Building 5 vs. Carousel Academy 0 | Minor League | Hingham - Haley Field | Wed, Jun 13, 5:00 PM |
Another great pitchers duel - again for these two teams. During the season they played to a 0-0 tie. The trend continued through 4 innings in this game - behind the very solid pitching of Ben Turner for Turner and Michael Saleski for Carousel. There was great defense on both sides - highlighted by an unbelievable shoestring, face in the dirt catch off the mound by Patrick McGeoghan with Turner men in scoring position. It stopped Turner from having a big third inning and it was arguably the best catch of the year. The Turner bats finally came alive in the fifth for 5 runs. The rally was sparked by Christian Boretti's sharp line drive double down the third base line with Coleman Chase in scoring position. He was then followed by a Jack Costello walk and big hits by Chris Edwards, Frankie Vadaro, Matt Chakalis and Jesse Lee (double). The Carousel team and their coaches should be congratulated on a great season (9-4-1 record for first time coach Frank Forbes). Pitchers: Carousel - Michael Saleski - 74 Patrick McGeoghan - 11 Buzz Helfrich - 32 Turner: Ben Turner - 76 Christian Boretti - 16 |
