What a barn burner at Hersey today between two good teams. Carousel came out swinging in the 1st with 4 runs and 3 in the 2nd to take a commanding lead with some spectacular defense including 2 extra base denying catches in centerfield by Mike Saleski. Allied came back in the third with 8 runs including a homer from Finn Powell and a triple off the bat of Nathan Townsend. Great pitching by Carousel's Colin McDonald(36), Pat McGaghan made a fine debut(17), and Allied's pitchers were great with Greg Patrolia (54), Stephen Townsend(55), and Finn Powell(24). Fantastic pitching by Carousel's Michael Saleski (58 pitches) and Jack Forbes (32 pitches) cooled the hot Turner bats. Turner's Reese Linton pitched his game of the year going the distance over 6 innings (75 pitches). Great defense all around, highlighted in the sixth inning when Carousel was rallying and Turner's Joshua Cassino spearheaded a double play.

Carousel Academy 4 vs. The Snug 6 Minor League Hingham - Kress Field Sat, May 26, 9:30 AM
Two of the hottest teams in the league treated a capacity crowd to a classic contest at Kress field this morning. The Snug struck first, with two runs in the first off strong hits by Greg Williamson and Jack Santilli. Carousel Academy rallied back with runs by Ryan Mcinnis and Ian Webb. The middle innings featured extraordinary pitching by Carousel Academy's Michael Seleski (10 strikeouts) and the Snug's Harry Wheeler (7 strikeouts). Wheeler was assisted by some stellar Snug defense including a run-saving throw from outfielder Will D'Entremont to catcher Brendon Morris and leaping catches by first baseman Greg Williamson and Adam Zona.

Carousel was down 4-3 in the bottom of the sixth. Patient batting allowed them to score one run one off of a walk and force the game into extra innings. The Snug came out swinging in the seventh with a single by Jack Santilli and yet another game winning home run by Bendan "Big Red" Morris. The Snug's Billy "the Kid" McNally came in to close out the seventh and seal the Snug's fifth win of the season.

Balanced Benefits Group 2 vs. Carousel Academy 10 Minor League Hingham - Hersey Field Tue, Jun 05, 5:00 PM
It looks like the fielding is really developed nicely for both teams. Two stellar defensive plays by BB's Jack Donius who turned a double play with Mike Ferrara and made a diving pop-up grab as catcher. Carousel had an unbelievable throw to first for the out -from centerfield by Patrick McGeoghegan. The J. Forbes to F. Forbes infield play accounted forat least three outs. Great job in his first pitching outing for Max McCollum. Great starting pitching by J Lemanski and Colin Flibotte. Great hits by John Gillig, Michael Saleski & Ryan McInnis.

Turner Custom Building 5 vs. Carousel Academy 0 Minor League Hingham - Haley Field Wed, Jun 13, 5:00 PM
Another great pitchers duel - again for these two teams. During the season they played to a 0-0 tie. The trend continued through 4 innings in this game - behind the very solid pitching of Ben Turner for Turner and Michael Saleski for Carousel. There was great defense on both sides - highlighted by an unbelievable shoestring, face in the dirt catch off the mound by Patrick McGeoghan with Turner men in scoring position. It stopped Turner from having a big third inning and it was arguably the best catch of the year. The Turner bats finally came alive in the fifth for 5 runs. The rally was sparked by Christian Boretti's sharp line drive double down the third base line with Coleman Chase in scoring position. He was then followed by a Jack Costello walk and big hits by Chris Edwards, Frankie Vadaro, Matt Chakalis and Jesse Lee (double). The Carousel team and their coaches should be congratulated on a great season (9-4-1 record for first time coach Frank Forbes).
