All players should feel proud of their efforts in this game. Excellent pitching, base running, defense and hitting were the order of the day. W.G. jumped to a 2-0 lead on rbi singles by Andrew Kieth and Max Pomroy. Allied Mortgage countered with hits by the Townsend brothers, Stanwood and Petrolia for a 4-2 lead. It seemed as though every play mattered in this a game that could have gone either way. In the top of the sixth with the bases loaded and two outs Luke Pomroy hit a single to knock in a run that tied the game 4-4. This brought up Liam Richmond who hit a ball that seemed like it would roll all the way to Jackson Square for a grand slam. At the end of the game Allied Home Mortgage had a pizza party where laughter and congratulations on a great season were plentiful. Manager Greg Sullivan and his coaches taught their players baseball skills (7-4 season) and it was evident they taught the players many other skills as well. P.
