Board Meeting Minutes

I. Call to order at 8:35 pm
II. Approval of minutes from last meeting –Tim Driscoll
One minor change requested, Tim to make before posting
III. President’s Report – Ed Anderson
• ASAP – Application has been approved, provides us a discount on the insurance. Nice job by Owen pulling this together
• Background Checks – Almost completed, some trickling in and being processed.
• First day of games –
• Went off very well
• Pitch counts went okay for the most part. Both teams are supposed to supply Pitch Counter for both sides, a little confusion on this but will be ironed out
• Scores being posted must be stepped up a bit, and coaches have been notified.
• Umpires did a terrific job overall. Kids are taking it very seriously and should be commended for conduct of the games.
• Fields in excellent shape, thank you Bob Madden.
• T-ball registrations are coming in requesting spots. All should flow through Kevin McNally. We have 15 shirts each team, some still have room. Kevin will follow up.
IV. Treasurer’s Report – Rick Linehan
• Current Balance - ,637.05.
• New Revenues - From Sponsors checks and final registrations coming in.
• Current Expenses Due – Umpire expenses; equipment and uniform bills are in. Outhouses for the fields. Umpire shirts bill coming in. Rec Department 50% more of the (1055) we owe for the user fees – total of 10.00.
• Consideration to buy some training videos sets to have on hand at the library proposed by Tony.
o Cost would be 20 each for books, 25 for dvds. (Al and Al series). Also idea to have an AV night at the library.
 Motion made to purchase resource materials not to exceed 0 to put in library. Vote Taken and PASSED . Tony will take the lead on this item.

V. Opening Day – Melissa Flanagan
• Sunday, April 29 at 11:00 AM
• No rain!
• Food – 900 hot dogs, rolls, 1000 chips, sodas – waters and soda’s are being supplied by Monadnock and Coca-Cola – thank you to our sponsors. BJ’s run tomorrow by Melissa and Laurie!
• Planning
o Grills – provided by the rec.
 Patrick to get keys for barn and golf cart before 1:00 pm on Friday
o Bunting – Ed has at home…
o Sponsors --
o Donuts and coffee – Dunkin Donuts will provide for us – thank you sponsors!
o Additional details -
o Throw out first pitch – Dan Mchugh Coach of HHS will do the honors
• Volunteers – set up will start at/about 8:30 am = helping hands needed.
• Raffle items – David Ortiz signed ball. Need a table – Kevin can provide. Rick has cash box. Need change. Melissa has tickets. Donation jar. Some stickers available for sale?
• Ice – will either use a pickup or bring coolers? Probably use the pickup provided by the Flanagans
• Music – for National Anthem. Sound system all set.
• Notice on website, in paper, email to list
o Rick will have checks for BJ’s, sound systems, Atlantic Ice provided

VI. Managers/Coaches Report - Skip Jenkins
• Coaches Appointment and Approval
o Additional approvals are needed, to do by email
• Paperwork for Managers
• Managers Training/Orientation for Farm and Tee-Ball
o Tball and Farm coaches meeting to be scheduled, Skip and Tony to coordinate for next week.
• Discussed game write ups. Need to be done better. Put even balance for writeups both teams. Losing coaches can supplement these writeups. Coaches will be reminded, and we can go in and make note that the Winning manager is responsible for posting. This is an important information source for the kids and the program.
• Bill reviewed proposed Farm League rules changes he has distributed. Ideas are plentiful and this is an excellent start. Nice job Bill. They will be distributed at the coaches meeting. Goal is for enhanced training and moving the game along.
o Vote taken and PASSED to adopt these rules and changes this year.
VI. Player Agent – Kevin McNally
• Adding late registrations to tee-ball teams
o As discussed, we can go and add these as the number permits
o One 11 year old wanting late registration, but it is indeed too late to accommodate
o 3 Waivers for younger kids wanting in to TBall, have been sent in.
• Refunds for players who have withdrawn
o Ed to forward to Rick for the withdrawals
VII. Equipment and Uniform Update – Bill Ford
• Distributed for Majors and Minors
• Farm and Tball equipment to be distributed at the meeting next week.
• Owe credit for Rockland Equipment sponsorship to be included.
VIII. Team Photos – Melissa Flanagan/Tony Viola
• Confirmation from Active Photos. Will take action pictures during the games as well.. this is an added benefit, will be posted to the site and can be purchased.
• Need to work on the scheduling these for May. Post on the websites as soon as information is available
• Order forms are available by email and should prove beneficial to the program

• Storage Shed for Hersey Field – Joe Higgins
o Plans dropped off. Rec needs to approve next Thursday. We have a builder – Steve Jacobs will prepare it.
o Need to donate to the town, and approve letter
